Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre - Adelaide University

In collaboration with Skin Smart Australia, the 600 Nurses Project team from Adelaide University will be offering free skin checks at the Rotary Pioneer Adventure Day.

The team from the Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre, Adelaide University in collaboration with Skin Smart Australia will provide free skin checks to the community.

Their aim is to focus on adults who have a history of exposure to the sun over long periods of time.

We all know many farmers have not had the chance to have a skin check, or are long overdue.

Two out of three people will have some form of skin cancer by age 70 and more can be done. There are very few services in regional Australia to support people to have skin checks and we are addressing this gap by training regional and remote nurses to perform checks and where necessary biopsies.

A Nursing team will provide highly professional full body skin checks at Rotary Pioneer Adventure Day, led by Nurses skilled in using a dermatoscope ... each taking approximately 15-20 minutes.

Following the check, there's an opportunity to have a digital copy of your images made accessible to you if required for further follow up and action. Their team will also follow up all participants 8 weeks later, should an unusual spot(s) have been identified!

Very soon, you will be able to visit our online clinic to pre-book a time. Stay Tuned.

However, when you walk past us at Pioneer Adventure Day, we'll also help as many as possible who haven't pre-booked.
