The Masonic Quilters & Craft Group meets regularly in Tailem Bend for members to indulge their passion for patchwork, quilting, machine embroidery and crafts.
Late in 2025 they hosted an exhibition of their work in the Tailem Bend Town Hall and proceeds from this event were earmarked to be donated in support of the Mental Health and Wellbeing of residents in the surrounding community. It is great fit with aims of the Rotary Pioneer Adventure Day.
The friendship and social support this group provides for its members is treasured by all and each year, many quilts are made and donated to charities such as Palliative Care SA and Ronald McDonald House as well as local residents. One of their quilts is displayed in Tailem Bend hospital each month for the enjoyment of patients, aged care residents, visitors and staff.
The members are very appreciative of an annual donation from the Freemasons of The Lodge of St John in Strathalbyn, which contributes to the purchase of wool wadding and backing fabrics for the quilts they create.
We are extremely grateful for the Masonic Quilters & Craft Group's support of this event.
